Full-Suite Commercial Refit Delivered for Private Dental Group

A growing private dental group required a comprehensive refurbishment of their premises to bring facilities in line with modern clinical and commercial standards. The scope of work was broad, spanning multiple interconnected systems and trades, and demanded careful coordination to minimise disruption to an operational healthcare environment.

Key challenges included:

• Aging infrastructure that no longer met current electrical or safety regulations
• Outdated access control with no centralised security or CCTV coverage across the buildings
• Inadequate staff facilities, including a kitchen area that required full replacement
• Legacy phone and communications systems that were unreliable and unsuitable for a modern, multi-room dental practice

The client needed a single, trusted partner capable of managing the entire project lifecycle — from initial survey and design through to installation, testing, and handover — without the complexity of managing multiple contractors independently.

Our building and electrical division took on the role of principal contractor, providing a fully managed, end-to-end delivery across all workstreams. A dedicated project manager was assigned from day one to oversee scheduling, quality control, and client communication throughout.

The programme of works was structured in coordinated phases to allow elements of the practice to remain operational where possible, reducing revenue impact for the client. Key workstreams included:

• Full electrical refit — rewiring, consumer unit upgrades, and compliant installation throughout the buildings
• Door access control — installation of a modern, programmable access system to secure clinical and staff-only areas
• CCTV system — design and installation of a full camera network with remote monitoring capability
• New kitchen fit-out — complete strip-out and replacement of the staff kitchen, including plumbing, electrics, and fixtures
• Phone and communications system — supply and installation of a contemporary telephony solution suited to a multi-room practice environment

Throughout delivery, our team worked closely with the client's practice managers to ensure all works aligned with CQC compliance requirements and the day-to-day needs of a clinical setting.
